Inveni Capital invests in Onbone (ex Injectobone)
Helsinki, Finland and Munich, Germany – April 1, 2009 Inveni Capital announced today an investment in Injectobone Finland Oy. The financing round was Injectobone’s first vc-round, and Inveni Capital was the sole investor. Injectobone Finland Oy is a Finnish life science company established in 2008. Injectobone’s business idea is to develop and manufacture innovative medical devices for orthopedics and traumatology. The company has two product lines under development: biodegradable bone cement, BIOCEMENT™ and ecological cast product, OMNICAST™. Both product lines are based on Injectobone’s proprietary biomaterial inventions. OMNICAST™ provides significant advantages over existing cast materials in terms of shapability, weight, durability, x-ray transparency and biodegradability. BIOCEMENT™ can be used in treatment of various kinds of bone trauma as well as for fixing other implants to bone tissue. The funds raised in the financing round will be used for the development and market launch of OMNICAST™ and for the development of BIOCEMENT™. Inveni Capital is a Finnish-German life science venture fund. Inveni extends hands-on entrepreneurial experience to guide early-stage companies to commercial success. For further information contact:
